Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has vowed to fast-track the completion of Aper Aku Stadium, ensuring Lobi Stars Football Club can soon return to their home ground. During an impromptu visit to the team’s training session at McCarthy Stadium in Makurdi, the governor expressed his administration’s dedication to the club’s success and pledged unwavering support.
Accompanied by Lobi Stars Chairman Dr. Philip Nongu and other officials, Governor Alia shared his optimism with the players. “I came here to watch your training and meet you in person. My administration is committed to your progress. The season began with challenges, but now you have the support needed to achieve great things. I trust you will rise to the top of the league table,” he said.
The governor’s visit was met with appreciation from the team. Technical Adviser and former Super Eagles star Daniel Amokachi thanked Alia for his encouragement and promised the team’s full cooperation. Team captain Solomon Kwambe echoed this sentiment, assuring the governor of their determination to perform at their best and make the state proud. As Lobi Stars prepare to face Heartland FC in Owerri this weekend for their opening match of the NPFL’s second stanza, the governor’s visit has infused the squad with renewed confidence. With promises of better facilities and steadfast government backing, the team looks forward to a brighter chapter in their campaign.
