Victor Osimhen delivered a standout performance last night, scoring twice to secure a crucial 2-1 victory for Galatasaray over Rizespor. The win provides a significant morale boost ahead of their must-win Europa League second-leg clash against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday.
Having suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat in the first leg in the Netherlands, Galatasaray needed a spark, and Osimhen delivered just that. He broke the deadlock with a well-placed header in the 47th minute and sealed the win with his second goal in the 86th minute. The Nigerian striker has now registered 14 goals in the Turkish Super Lig.
This victory also sees Galatasaray extend their lead to six points over closest rivals Fenerbahce. The two Istanbul giants are set to face off in the highly anticipated Intercontinental Derby next Monday.
