Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has made a notable return to Nollywood with her latest movie, Hatred. The production marks her re-entry into the film industry after serving in government.
Appointed by President Bola Tinubu on August 21, 2023, Kennedy-Ohanenye’s tenure as a minister ended on October 23, 2024, along with four other cabinet members. Since then, she has rekindled her passion for filmmaking, an art she embraced long before her political career.
On Wednesday, she took to social media platform X to announce the release of Hatred, directing viewers to watch it on her YouTube channel, Kenuj TV.
Kennedy-Ohanenye is no stranger to Nollywood. Her previous acting credits include Saving My Marriage, Hunting the Angel, Royal Ploy, and The Cow Girls, where she starred alongside industry veterans such as Segun Arinze, Ngozi Ezeonu, Linda Osifo, and Francis Duru.
Beyond entertainment and politics, Kennedy-Ohanenye is a lawyer and entrepreneur. Her political journey saw her making history in 2023 as the first woman to declare a presidential ambition under the All Progressives Congress (APC) before stepping down for Tinubu. Now, with Hatred, she seems poised to leave an indelible mark once again in the Nigerian film industry.
