
Nigerian music superstars Wizkid and Davido have once again made their mark on the global stage, securing victories at the prestigious 2025 NAACP Image Awards.
The winners of the 56th edition of the awards were announced on Tuesday and Wednesday, celebrating outstanding achievements in arts and media.
Wizkid won in the ‘Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration’ category for his song with American R&B singer Brent Faiyaz, marking his sixth NAACP Image Award. This milestone cements him as the most awarded Nigerian artist in the history of the event.

Meanwhile, Davido took home the ‘Outstanding International Song’ award for his collaboration with Chris Brown, further solidifying his influence in the global music industry.
While these wins were a moment of pride for Nigeria, other prominent nominees, including Tems and Burna Boy, missed out on victories in their respective categories.
The NAACP Image Awards, organized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), annually recognize excellence in film, television, music, and literature, celebrating Black excellence and contributions to global entertainment.
