This distinction comes from a report by Chart Masters, a music statistics platform that tracks global artist earnings on the streaming platform.
The list of Africa’s top earners is dominated by Nigerian artists, with Wizkid leading the charge. Other notable names include Burna Boy with $782,148 and Tems with $660,210. South Africa’s Tyla is the only non-Nigerian artist in the top ten, earning $607,804.
Globally, Canadian rapper Drake and American singer Taylor Swift top Spotify’s earnings chart, with monthly earnings of $7,717,904 and $7,713,106, respectively.
