
Africa’s music industry is set for another milestone as the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), BridgeAfric, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) collaborate to host a Showbiz101 music workshop and recording camp in Lagos from March 26 to 29.
AFRIMA’s Chief Experience Officer, Adenrele Niyi, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that the partnership with BridgeAfric aligns with AFRIMA’s mission to develop Africa’s creative industry through capacity building and cross-border collaborations. She underscored that the project is not only about music but also about equipping young creatives with essential skills and global industry connections.

BridgeAfric’s founder, Victoria Nkong, who also serves as an associate producer for AFRIMA, reinforced the importance of education in addressing challenges in the entertainment sector. She noted that the five-day event will feature a three-day global music camp, where top musicians will collaborate to produce a global EP featuring stars from various African countries.
Confirmed artists for the event include Tanzania’s Juma Jux, South Africa’s Nadia Nakai, and Nigeria’s DJ Neptune, alongside Ivorian stars such as AFRIMA Award winner Didi B, Himra, Suspect 95, Kikimoteleba, Goulam, and Gabin Bao. Algeria’s DJ MohGreen and France’s Live Nation executive, Eric Bellamy, will contribute their expertise, while Canada’s Sonia Aimy and Malawi’s Wendy Harawa are also expected to participate.

Music executives, including Bizzle Osikoya of The Plug Entertainment and Sesan Adeniji, General Manager of Vybz FM, will provide insights into the business side of music. Beyond the workshops, a welcome industry party will kick off the program on Wednesday.
Organizers have announced that registration for music producers, songwriters, and artists is free, offering a rare opportunity to learn, network, and advance their careers in the evolving global music industry.
